Meet the Breeder

I got my first dog, Nicco, from Adagio Bolognese.  I decided I wanted to attempt breeding so in 2016, I added Lucee to our family. I founded My Regal Bolognese in 2018 in the Texas Hill Country just outside of San Antonio.  As a retired NICU nurse, I found myself missing caring for little beings, so breeding seemed like the natural next step. After my first litter, I was hooked!

I was fascinated by the fact that the Bolognese breed has been around for centuries and has remained basically unchanged. Once I had two of my own and watched their personalities, I decided that these special little dogs needed to be protected.

All of my dogs have annual exams and vaccines. I feed a high quality food and supplement with human meat and veggies, vitamins, fish oil and pre and probiotics.  My breeding dogs are health tested per ABC standard recommendations.

I am continuously looking at photographs of Bolognese and reviewing the standard to learn the qualities of a “perfect dog.”  When choosing a puppy as a future breeding dog, I look for as many of the “perfect dog” qualities that a puppy has. Emphasis is placed on genetics and health testing as well as physical structure.

I have been a member of the American Bolognese Club since 2015 and I am currently serving the club as Vice President.

My Breeding Program

I am continually seeking to enhance my breeding program by introducing new lines, with two exciting additions planned for 2025. I look forward to seeing the quality and characteristics they bring to our beloved Bolognese.

Now that the Bolognese has been recognized in the AKC’s Miscellaneous group and is gaining visibility in the show ring, interest in this remarkable breed is growing quickly. Soon, more people will come to know and love the Bolognese as we do. I am deeply committed to preserving its purity and health, and I’m dedicated to educating future breeders to ensure this noble breed thrives for generations to come.

My Regal Bolognese kennel is registered with FCI as well as with AKC.
